You hit the nail on the head! Although Alexander's day had nothing on Golds! I really did feel for him and Belle, it was a terrible, horrible no good day! Here's hoping the sun will come out tommorrow, or in three weeks as the case is here!

LOL Thank you, I love the title - it was a great scene.

Poor Gold.....but I really think he had no choice BUT to be angry - there and later on after the chipped cup scene. His anger is the only thing keeping him from completely collapsing. He was so devastated, so shattered, so anguished after that that his face almost looked crazed. I've rarely seen anyone look that.....I can't even put words to it. Without his anger, I think Gold would have a complete breakdown.

His love for Belle, to the point where twice now he's gone to the brink of insanity, is truly worthy of Romantic English literature - or even stories out of Greek Mythology. Their love for each other is Heroic.

I agree. It seems like the universe is kind of working against Rumpel's attempts at being a better man. I guess you could also make the same argument for Regina. External forces keep thworting their attempts to become better people for their loved ones. It's sad really

Actually, I don't feel that sorry for Regina, but anyway.....Gold is still, IMO, on the path to redemption. No one said this would be smooth sailing and, frankly, it's not like he went out of his way to search for Hook; Hook came to him. So he beat the man up - in the end he hasn't killed him, hasn't travelled that dark path. Anyone expecting him to be perfect is being unfair - none of us are perfect. If I'm assaulted, you think I don't want my boyfriend to beat the crap out of that guy? I'm glad that Belle did not take him to task for beating up Hook - she was dismayed, but she understood I think that it had to happen. It was only when it was starting to get out of hand that she pleaded with him.

Gold's threat to the Charmings was out of sheer desperation. He still wants to be good, but Belle has always been his reminder that he has that inside of him. It's going to be a struggle, but then that's what makes it beautiful - his attempts to overcome what the curse did to him.

If people would give him a chance DESPITE his past, it would be easier for him. I know it's easy to just accuse Gold and treat him like dirt, but why not thank him for helping Henry and Snow/Emma? That would be only right. I can see why Gold might ask why he should do good things if people won't respond positively. Again, I understand the past things he did, but constantly punishing him even when he's helping is NOT helping him.

They do tend to forget that here and even in FTL the Charmings sought him out for help. Granted he asked for hair, whatever, in return. But it was not anything they couldn't part with.

He helped Henry, David, Snow/Emma without asking for payment.
It would be nice to acknowledge that Gold has done things for them and others (Ogre wars twice anyone..) that was never asked of the Blue Fairy?
